Abdominal Breathing or Diaphragmatic Breathing is a form of deep sleep breathing which promotes relaxation responses. It facilitates pelvic floor muscle relaxation. The breathing puts a gentle pressure on the pelvic floor to enhance one’s ability to become aware of it. To complete this exercise, one would require lying on the back with a pillow under the head. Now keep the feet together on the floor and bend the knees. Allow the bent knees to drop out to the side with the soles of the feet together. Place a pillow under each knee to provide support, to begin with. Now continue the abdominal breathing technique for at least 2 minutes in the same pose.
